At Connections with Spirit, I offer a personalised approach to wellbeing, with time to discuss your needs, preferences and comfort.
Ear candling is a complementary practice involving hollow candles, commonly made from fabric coated in wax. Although sometimes described as an ear-cleansing treatment, there is no evidence that it removes earwax, creates beneficial suction, improves hearing or treats sinus problems.
Understanding the Treatment
Some people seek ear candling as a relaxation ritual or as part of their spiritual practice. Any personal sense of calm should be distinguished from proven medical benefits.
Ear candling carries risks, including burns, candle-wax blockage and injury to the ear or eardrum. It should not be used to manage ear symptoms or replace professional assessment.
What to Expect
Before any appointment, I will discuss your expectations, relevant health concerns and the risks involved so you can make an informed decision.
You can ask questions or decline any part of the session. Your comfort and consent remain central throughout.
Optional Relaxation Support
Your appointment may also include a gentle facial massage or Reiki, depending on your preferences and suitability. With an add-on, the appointment lasts approximately 40–50 minutes.
These elements offer time for rest and reflection, without promising a particular outcome.
Aftercare and Ear Health
There will be time afterwards to discuss your experience and any concerns.
Pain, discharge, dizziness or changes in hearing should not be interpreted as cleansing or energetic rebalancing. Seek medical advice if these occur.
If you have blocked ears, troublesome earwax or sinus symptoms, speak to a pharmacist or GP about appropriate treatment.
